Ayodhya's storm in women's hockey, Chitrakoot crushed 13-0; Players showed their strength in tennis also

Ayodhya: The two-day state women's tennis and hockey competition, organized under the Women's Sports Festival, started on Friday. CDO Krishna Kumar Singh inaugurated the competition organized at Dr. Ambedkar International Sports Complex located in Dabhasemar after getting introduced to the players. On the very first day, women players performed brilliantly on the field and won their respective matches.

According to RSO Animesh Saxena, teams from 18 divisions of the state are participating in the hockey competition and teams from nine divisions are participating in lawn tennis.

Ayodhya registered a resounding victory by 13-0

In the hockey league matches, host Ayodhya Mandal defeated Chitrakoot one-sidedly by 13-0. For Ayodhya, Vibha played an important role in the team's victory by scoring five goals alone.

In the second match, Kanpur defeated Basti 8-0. Anshi of Kanpur scored three goals.

In the third match, Prayagraj defeated Mirzapur 5-1. Prayagraj's Vartika and Princi scored two goals each.

In the fourth match, Aligarh defeated Devipatan 8-0. Aligarh's Kiran scored two goals.

In the fifth match, Varanasi defeated Bareilly 13-0. Anushka of Varanasi scored three goals.

In the sixth match, Meerut defeated Agra 3-0. Kajal, Ishika and Nandini of Meerut scored one goal each.

Strong competition in lawn tennis also

Tough competition was also seen between the players in lawn tennis matches. Players from many divisions including Lucknow, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Meerut and Aligarh registered victory in different matches.

  • Ramindra Kaur of Lucknow defeated Tanya of Prayagraj 3-1.
  • Anushka Mishra of Ayodhya defeated Komal of Devipatan 3-0.
  • Mansi Singh of Gorakhpur defeated Beena Tiwari of Devipatan 3-0.
  • Ayushi Sonkar of Prayagraj defeated Nancy of Chitrakoot 3-0.
  • Samraagi of Varanasi defeated Vishakha Dwivedi of Varanasi 3-2.
  • Sonam of Meerut defeated Poonam of Devipatan by 3-2.
  • Anshika Kanojia of Devipatan defeated Shreya Shukla of Ayodhya 3-0.
  • Ananya Singh of Prayagraj defeated Sonia Saini of Meerut 3-0.
  • Sonakshi of Aligarh defeated Banisha of Lucknow 3-1.
  • Swati Vardhan of Prayagraj defeated Maithili Ruganta of Gorakhpur 3-0.

Sports officials Brijesh Soni, Ejaz Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar Singh, Anupam Shukla and coaches, officials and players were present during the competition.
