Emraan Hashmi's 'Awarapan 2' Earns Rs 5.50 Cr On Day 8, Sunny Deol's 'Batwara 1947' Struggles With Rs 0.75 Cr

Awarapan 2 continued its strong run at the box office on Day 8, collecting Rs 5.50 crore in India net. While the film saw a modest dip from the previous day, its overall worldwide earnings have climbed. In contrast, Batwara 1947 witnessed a much sharper fall, adding only Rs 0.75 crore net on its eighth day.

'Awarapan 2' Day 8 Box Office Collection

Awarapan 2 earned Rs 5.50 crore net across 9,858 shows in India on Day 8, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The figure marks an 8.3% decline from the Rs 6.00 crore net collection recorded on Day 7.

With the latest earnings included, the film's total India gross collection has reached Rs 141.87 crore, while its India net stands at Rs 119.00 crore.

The film also maintained its presence in overseas markets. It added Rs 1.00 crore on Day 8, taking its cumulative overseas gross to Rs 27.30 crore. Its worldwide gross collection now stands at Rs 169.17 crore.

'Awarapan 2' Becomes Emraan Hashmi's Biggest Film

Awarapan 2 has emerged as Emraan Hashmi's biggest film, giving the actor's career a major boost. The film's strong box office performance has also been followed by announcements of several other sequels featuring the actor, including Jannat 2.

With the sequel performing well, fans are also hoping for Awarapan 3. However, the makers have not officially announced a third instalment yet.

'Batwara 1947' Day 8 Box Office Collection

Batwara 1947 had a difficult eighth day at the box office. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, he film collected Rs 0.75 crore net across 3,211 shows, marking a 44.4% drop from its Rs 1.35 crore net collection on Day 7.

Its total India gross collection has now reached Rs 40.77 crore, with the India net standing at Rs 34.35 crore.

Overseas earnings contributed another Rs 0.50 crore on Day 8, taking the film's total overseas gross to Rs 8.25 crore. Its worldwide gross collection currently stands at Rs 49.02 crore.

'Batwara 1947' Faces A Major Box Office Setback

Batwara 1947 was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 120 crore. However, even after eight days in theatres, the film has failed to cross the Rs 50 crore mark, let alone recover half of its reported production cost.

The Day 8 performance, when the film's collection slipped further into the lower range, has added to its troubles. Based on its box office performance so far, the film is now being considered a flop.
