Pellet Gun Case FIR: Delhi Police has registered an FIR on the complaint of Jantar Mantar protesting student Sahil. The student alleges that he lost his eyesight after being hit by pellets from a pellet gun.
Pellet Gun Case FIR: New Delhi. After Congress leader Rahul Gandhi sat on strike for about five hours, Delhi Police has registered an FIR on the complaint of student Sahil. The student has alleged that he lost his eyesight after being hit by pellets from a pellet gun during the protest on July 20. However, the police have not named any person as an accused at present. The case has been registered against unknown person. After the FIR was registered, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi said that this is the first step towards justice.

Rahul Gandhi sat on a dharna outside Sansad Marg police station in Delhi at around 12:30 pm on Friday afternoon. Their main demand was to register an FIR on the complaint of student Sahil. Sahil was injured during the Parliament march on July 20.
Rahul Gandhi had demanded immediate action from the police in this matter. He had made it clear that he would not end the protest until the FIR was registered. About five hours later, at 5:30 pm, Delhi Police started the process of registering the FIR.
Sahil alleges injury due to pellet pellets
Student Sahil alleges that he was injured by pellets from a pellet gun during the demonstration on July 20. According to him, he lost his eyesight due to this injury. During the protest, Rahul Gandhi had also shown the pellets said to be on Sahil.
Rahul had questioned the police linking them to the use of pellet guns. He said that if the pellet gun was not fired by the police, then how did these pellets reach the student’s body.
Case registered against unknown person
Delhi Police has registered an FIR on Sahil’s complaint, but no person’s name has been registered as an accused yet. Police have registered a case against unknown. This means that the person or people responsible will be identified during the investigation.
The police can now investigate the people present during the protest, the events and the facts to the injury caused to the student. After the completion of the investigation, the status of further action in the case will be clear.
Many leaders including Priyanka Gandhi were present in the protest.
Many senior Congress leaders were present with Rahul Gandhi during his strike. These included other leaders including Priyanka Gandhi, Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, Salman Khurshid and Jairam Ramesh. Congress had been continuously alleging that despite the complaint of student Sahil, FIR was not being registered.
Regarding this issue, Rahul Gandhi reached Sansad Marg police station and registered his protest against the police. Due to the presence of a large number of Congress leaders, political turmoil outside the police station also increased.
Now investigation will reveal the truth about pellet gun
After registering the FIR, the police investigation in this matter will proceed further. Now the biggest question is who used the pellet gun during the July 20 demonstration. The police will also have to find out under what circumstances Sahil got injured and what was the reason behind the loss of his eyesight. Responsibility can be fixed on the basis of evidence emerging during investigation. At present, after the registration of FIR, the way has been cleared for the investigation of the case to begin.
