This year, the weather is taking such a turn from time to time that dreadful storms are knocking one after the other. One such devastating storm is going to hit India's neighbourhood, the mere sound of which has created panic in many countries.
The Meteorological Department has issued a very scary warning saying that the next 12 hours are going to be very heavy. A fierce storm is rising in the sea which will reach the cities at a speed of 220 kilometers per hour. It carries the destructive power to destroy everything that comes in its path in the blink of an eye. Lakhs of people living in coastal areas are holding their breath and the administration has issued the highest level alert.
How dangerous is Super Typhoon Saude?
An extremely dangerous cyclonic storm is rapidly strengthening in the sea around the Asian continent. According to meteorologists, this super typhoon named 'Saudel' has taken the form of a severe Category 3 cyclone. The speed of winds in its center is continuously increasing and it is feared that it may hit land areas at a speed faster than 220 kilometers per hour.
In view of the severity of the storm, 'Typhoon Condition-1' has been implemented in Saipan and the surrounding Northern Mariana Islands. This simply means that within the next 12 hours, extremely destructive storm winds and torrential rains will begin in these areas. Authorities in the northern islands of Agrihan, Pagan and Almagan have declared a red alert and asked people to seek shelter in safe places and shelters. The storm is centered just a few hundred miles from Saipan and is moving rapidly northwest.
Sea surge and terrible orgy of 'El Nino'
According to the weather centre, the impact of Hurricane Saudel is extremely widespread. Dangerous storm winds are blowing up to 100 miles away in its southern part. Meteorologists have warned that due to the global 'El Nino' effect and rising ocean temperatures, the weather has become unusually violent this year. Due to El Nino, devastating storms are taking place one after the other in the Pacific Ocean and China Sea areas.
China's National Meteorological Center has also issued warnings for its coastal areas, especially around Hainan Island. Experts believe that by the end of this year, due to the impact of powerful El Nino, the Asia-Pacific region will have to face even more severe storms, uncontrolled rains and deadly floods.
Fear of 'Maysak': When dams broke and cities were washed away
The fear of storm 'Soudel' is not without reason. In fact, the wounds of the devastation caused by the storm 'Maysak' that hit China and its surrounding areas just a few weeks ago are still green. Initially it seemed that the loss was minor, but recently when the government figures were updated, the whole world was stunned. The death toll in the severe floods caused by Maysak suddenly increased from 39 to 159.
The rains wreaked such havoc in the cities of Nanning and Guigang in the Guangxi region that all records in history were broken. Two big dams in Nanning city could not withstand the pressure of water and collapsed like a deck of cards. In this incident of dam breach alone, 107 people were buried alive or were swept away in the strong current of water. 16.5 lakh people were affected in the entire area and more than 40 thousand people had to flee their homes overnight.
People trapped on rooftops, lives saved by drone and terror of 900 snakes
The scenes of devastation that emerged during the Maysak storm were hair-raising. When the dam of Liulan Reservoir broke, muddy water entered the villages so fast that people did not even get a chance to recover. People sat on the rooftops of their own houses to save their lives. To save a person trapped in the flood, the Army had to take the help of a special drone, only then his life could be saved.
Not only this, another horrifying scene was seen amidst this natural disaster. A snake farm was submerged in the flood waters, due to which more than 900 poisonous snakes escaped and started swimming in residential areas and water. Panic spread throughout the area and a woman even died tragically due to snake bite.
Very heavy days to come, entire system on alert
Considering this terrible experience of old storms, this time the administration is not taking any laxity regarding the storm 'Soudel'. Officials have admitted that there were lapses in emergency preparedness in previous accidents, so this time the security system has been put on complete high alert mode.
Constant updates are being sent to coastal and remote islands via radio, telephone emergency lines and high-frequency radio signals. The ships and fishermen present in the sea have been instructed to return to the shore immediately. All low-lying areas in the path of the cyclone are being evacuated.
The Meteorological Department says that the next 24 to 48 hours are very critical. If this storm changes its direction even slightly towards the west, then huge devastation is certain. At present, there is an atmosphere of fear in the neighboring countries of India due to the arrival of the storm and everyone seems to be scared in front of this havoc of nature.
