Delhi Police is registering an FIR over alleged pellet injuries suffered by 19-year-old NEET protester Sahil Lochav during a July 20 march to Parliament. Rahul Gandhi staged a sit-in with Lochav, displaying pellets and claiming over 200 remain in his body, including three in his eye, while demanding accountability from the police.

Delhi Police is registering an FIR over injuries sustained by a 19-year-old student during a protest march from Jantar Mantar towards Parliament on July 20 over the NEET-UG exam row. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi joined the student and staged a sit-in outside a Delhi police station, insisting that the case be formally registered.

The FIR comes amid growing pressure on the Delhi Police over the alleged pellet gun injuries suffered by 19-year-old student protester Sahil Lochav. Congress leaders, including Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav, joined Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi at Parliament Street Police Station, where Gandhi staged a sit-in demanding that a case be registered.

Gandhi, who arrived with Lochav, challenged the Delhi Police's assertion that its personnel had not used pellet guns during the protest. He displayed pellets allegedly extracted from the student's body and referred to a Lady Hardinge Hospital report, claiming that more than 200 pellets remain lodged in Lochav's body, including three in his eye.

"He has lost his eye. He will never see from that eye again," Gandhi said, adding that some pellets near Lochav's heart could not be removed.
