Bayern Munich chief scout Nils Schmadtke is facing internal pressure amid worries over leaks, and his position could come under threat, with Manchester United’s Christopher Vivell being mentioned as a possible successor.
It is understood that Schmadtke has been under criticism within the club since spring 2026, with some senior Bayern figures holding the scouting department responsible for repeated leaks involving personnel planning.
According to reports, Bayern have already identified Vivell as a potential replacement.
Vivell is currently Manchester United’s head of scouting and previously worked as technical director at Chelsea. His contract with the Red Devils runs until June 2027.
During his spell at RB Salzburg, Vivell is believed to have had an important role in the recruitment of Erling Haaland and Karim Adeyemi.
