Tezzbuzz Desk- After resigning from the post of BJP's national spokesperson, Shehzad Poonawala has made a scathing attack on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. He claimed that as long as he is alive, Rahul Gandhi cannot become the Prime Minister of India. Poonawalla also targeted Rahul Gandhi as well as his father and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi through social media posts.
Shahzad Poonawala wrote on social media platform In another post, he warned Rahul Gandhi and wrote, “No more filters – Rahul Gandhi, be ready.” Referring to his political journey, Poonawala said that he started politics as a Congress volunteer in around 2008. He was a student at that time. While in Congress, he had raised questions on the leadership ability of Rahul Gandhi and later separated from the party and moved to BJP.
In his statement he also targeted former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Poonawalla sarcastically said that he will always be grateful to Rajiv Gandhi because he gave Rahul Gandhi to the country. He claimed that because of Rahul Gandhi's political role, Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014, 2019 and 2024 and there is a possibility of him becoming the Prime Minister in 2029 also. Poonawala wrote sarcastically that in this respect, Rajiv Gandhi, like him, is also among the biggest supporters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Discussion has intensified in political circles regarding his statement.
Earlier, Shehzad Poonawala had submitted his resignation to BJP National President Nitin Naveen. He cited economic and personal circumstances in his resignation. Poonawala said that in the current situation he is not getting income from his job and hence he needs to find new ways forward.
It is clear from his attack on Rahul Gandhi after resigning that Poonawala has not changed his political stand against Congress. However, the picture is not yet clear regarding his next political step after leaving BJP. His latest statements have definitely intensified the ongoing political rhetoric between Congress and BJP.
