Instagram, one of the world's most popular social media platforms, offers features that go far beyond simple photo and video sharing. From editing images and saving them offline to customizing profile fonts and scheduling future content, the platform is packed with useful tools. A few years ago, the Meta-owned platform launched its in-app post-scheduling tool. As the name suggests, it allows users to schedule their posts. This feature is particularly valuable for content creators, as it saves time on repetitive daily tasks and eliminates the risk of forgetting to share posts at the optimal time.
If you want to know how to use it, here is everything you need to know about Instagram's post-scheduling tool.
What is the 'Schedule Posts' feature on Instagram?
The 'Schedule Posts' feature on Instagram allows users to create a post and set a specific time for it to go live. This feature is incredibly helpful for businesses, creators, or general users who need to post at specific times but may not be active at that moment. By planning posts in advance, you can easily manage your content without having to be online constantly.
Currently, the platform notes that features such as product tagging, collaborative posts, sponsored posts, and fundraisers are not supported for scheduled content.
Users with public accounts can schedule Reels, photos, and carousel posts directly from the Instagram app. However, there are a few prerequisites for scheduling posts:
Your Instagram account must be public.
You can schedule up to 25 posts per day and plan content up to 30 days in advance.
Scheduled content will retain the privacy and audience settings you selected at the time of scheduling.
How do you schedule posts on Instagram?
Open the 'Create' menu by tapping 'Create' in the top-left corner or swiping right from your feed, then select 'Post' or 'Reel'.
Select the photo or video you want to share and tap 'Next'.
Edit the content by adding captions, effects, or filters as desired.
Scroll down and select 'More options'.
Enable 'Schedule this post' or 'Schedule this reel', then set your preferred date and time.
Tap 'Done' to confirm.
Tap 'Back' to return to the previous screen.
Tap 'Schedule' to finalize and save your post or reel.
