Suvinder Vicky became a national sensation after the success of Kohrra in 2023. His performance as Balbir Singh, a cop employed with the Punjab Police, made him a bankable star. Following the Netflix series, he featured in the acclaimed show Glory on the same OTT platform and now, his film, Awarapan 2, is doing excellently at the box office. Did you know Suvinder was also offered a role in Batwara 1947? In an exclusive interview with Zoom, the veteran actor revealed why he couldn’t sign the Sunny Deol film that clashed with Awarapan 2 in theatres on August 14.

Talking to us, recalled being offered an important role in  . However, the actor added, “Dates ki issue thi isiliye nahi ho paya varna mere bhi do releases hoti ek saath. My best wishes were with both films. Cinema hai, clash kaise ho sakti hai? Zaruri nahi hai ki sabko sab filmein pasanda aye. Sabka apna apna taste hai. Jisko joh pasand hai voh dekhne jaye. Ultimately jeet toh filmon ki ho rahi hai. Chahe yeh chale ya voh. Ek taraf Emraan ho aur ek taraf Sunny Deol ho, filmein toh dono chalengi. Jeet humare kala hi hai.”

 

Suvinder plays the role of Jaideep in  . His character is loyal to the crime lord named Amrit Singh. He is his confidant. After Amrit’s assassination, he guides the crime lord’s youngest son Zoravar (Puran Gabbi). Shivam Pandit  enters their world when Amrit is dead. He has joined hands with Interpol to stop Zoravar from child trafficking in Bangkok. With the help of Zoravar’s sister Zara (Disha Patani), he rescues Aliyah. Some time back, Shivam found her near his deceased lover Aliyah’s (Shriya Saran) grave. He takes her to the orphanage and takes care of her expenses. Aliyah is adopted by a couple, who turn out to be child traffickers. Shivam travels to Bangkok to rescue her.

Before Kohrra’s fame, Suvinder acted in Hindi films such as Udta Punjab and Kesari. He is a renowned name in the Punjabi film industry as well. Prior to Awarapan 2, Suvinder was seen as Arjun Rampal’s father, Brigadier Jahangir, in Dhurandhar The Revenge, and as SSP Surjit Singh Sugga in the ZEE5 controversial film, Satluj with Diljit Dosanjh and Arjun Rampal. The movie still remains banned in India due to political reasons.
