Coventry City has completed the signing of 19-year-old forward Sidiki Cherif from Fenerbahce on a long-term contract.

Cherif joined the Turkish side on loan in February 2026 in a deal that included an obligation to buy, and scored three goals during the closing stages of the season.

The young forward also gained experience in European competition, featuring in the UEFA Europa League and this season’s UEFA Champions League qualifiers before completing his move to Coventry.

Cherif began his senior career with Angers SCO in France, making his professional debut during the 2023-24 season. He was part of the squad that earned promotion to Ligue 1 in 2024 and continued his development in the French top flight.

His breakthrough came during the first half of the 2025-26 campaign, when he scored four Ligue 1 goals by the end of December. His performances attracted interest from clubs across Europe before he moved to Fenerbahce.

Born in Guinea, Cherif has received call-ups to France’s Under-16 and Under-21 squads.

The striker said he was looking forward to beginning his Premier League career with Coventry.

“I’m very happy to be a Coventry City player and I’m excited to be playing in the Premier League,” Cherif said.
