Former Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has sealed another transfer this summer.

The Congo international moved to United from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2019.

The 28-year-old spent five seasons in total at Old Trafford and was a regular in the starting XI during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s spell in charge.

He made 190 appearances altogether for the club and scored two goals.

His most productive campaign came in 2020-21, when he featured in an impressive 54 matches for the Red Devils.

The right-back was sold during Erik ten Hag’s tenure after falling out of the starting line-up, and he then joined West Ham United.

The defender played 65 matches for the Hammers and scored two goals. However, after West Ham were relegated at the end of last season, serious doubts emerged over his future at the club.

Wan-Bissaka impressed for Congo at the World Cup, particularly in the match against England and his former teammate Marcus Rashford.

He had been linked with several Premier League clubs, including champions Arsenal, but it now appears that one side have won the race for his signature for the upcoming season.

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said, “Aston Villa agree deal to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from West Ham, here we go!”

He added, “deal in place on loan with mandatory buy clause, green light from the player to Villa project. Agreement between all parties.”

The defender has also been given the “green light for his medical.”

Wan-Bissaka will now have the chance to play in the Champions League once again if the move is completed over the next few days.
