The qualifier matches for the second round of Davis Cup 2026 are to be played between 18-20 September. The 'Final 8' teams will be decided through this qualifier. In the second round qualifiers, 35 matches will be played between 14 countries. India is going to face competition from South Korea. The team that wins this match will qualify for the final. If India wins against South Korea, then its dream of winning the first Davis Cup title will remain alive. India had made it to the finals in 1966, 1974 and 1987 but had to face defeat on all three occasions.
India's campaign this time has been excellent. The team defeated Switzerland 3–1 in September 2025, its first Davis Cup win in Europe since 1993. After this, in February this year, it defeated 2024 finalist and world number-6 Netherlands 3-2 in Bengaluru. With this impressive performance, India reached the second round of Davis Cup Qualifiers and achieved the feat of winning three consecutive Davis Cup ties since 2013–14. Now he has to defeat South Korea to reach the 'Final 8'.
