Petrol-Diesel Rates Today (August 18, 2026): Petrol and diesel prices across the country remain completely stable today. The new rate list released by state-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) at 6 AM shows no changes to retail petrol and diesel prices.

Surge in Crude Oil

There has been no significant change in Brent crude prices on Tuesday, with trading hovering around $91 per barrel. Brent crude futures fell by 0.07% to $90.99 per barrel. Oil prices had rallied in the previous trading session. This was driven by the decision not to extend the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in June between Iran and the US to resolve their dispute.

The 14-point agreement signed on June 17 officially expired on Monday following mutual accusations of violations by both parties. US President Donald Trump has clearly stated that he will not extend the 60-day timeframe for diplomatic peace talks. Driven by Trump's firm stance against extending talks and Iran's warning of an aggressive posture, the international benchmark Brent crude suddenly surged over 2.4% yesterday, closing above the $90.60–$90.87 per barrel range. US benchmark WTI crude also jumped 2.2%, reaching the $84.50 per barrel mark.
