What is the new date?
LPG companies were repeatedly urging customers to complete their e-KYC. The deadline for this was fixed on August 16, 2026. But, many customers could not complete their KYC on time due to Independence Day and holidays. As a result, the deadline has been extended to August 23. This has given relief to those customers.
Will the gas connection be cut off?
The biggest question is, will the gas connection be cut if e-KYC is not completed by August 23? It won't happen. If e-KYC is not completed, cylinders will not be available at domestic rates. This means that gas cylinders will cost more for those who do not have KYC.
How can you do e-KYC from home?
The good news is that not every customer needs to visit a gas agency to complete e-KYC. Different gas companies offer online facilities through their apps. Inden customers can complete e-KYC through the Inden Oil One app, which supports Aadhaar-based face authentication. Bharat Gas customers can complete the process through the Hello BPCL app and HP Gas customers can complete the process through the HP Pay app. If the customer faces difficulty in completing the online process, they can also visit their LPG distributor to complete the e-KYC.
