As of July 31, 2,575 government services were available on Umang. Whereas 5,437 types of documents and services have been added on DigiLocker. The government's focus is on bringing more and more government facilities on digital platforms.

What is the difference between Umang and DigiLocker?

Umang is a platform where government services can be used. Application, payment and other information can be obtained in this.

The main work of DigiLocker is to make government documents available in digital form. Documents can be kept safe in this. If needed, these can also be shared digitally.

Services are increasing rapidly on Umang

The government is connecting the services of different departments to Umang. 129 new services were added on Umang between February and July.

With this, many government works can be done through a single app. These include facilities ranging from application to bill payment.

Services to pension, scholarship, passport and driving license are also available. Many facilities to EPFO ​​are also available on Umang.

Which documents are available on DigiLocker?

Government and important digital documents are being made available on DigiLocker. It includes admit cards and marksheets of many states.

Apart from this, Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY card can also be available in digital form. Bank statements and TDS documents have also been added.

Documents to interest certificate and insurance policy are also being included in it. Facilities like Family ID are also being provided at some places.

Facilities like electricity bill are also being added

The government is also bringing everyday services on digital platforms. These include utility services like electricity bills.

Its purpose is to save citizens from visiting the websites of different departments. People will be able to do many important tasks from a single platform.

However, the availability of a service depends on the concerned department. The scope of services may also differ in different states.

What services are available on Umang?

Many government services are already available on Umang. These include EPFO ​​balance and claim facility.

Some services to PAN card and Aadhaar are also available. Utility bills like electricity and water can also be viewed and deposited.

Apart from this, services to pension, passport and driving license are also available. The number of government services is continuously being increased.

How will you get benefits if you do not have a smartphone?

People who do not have a smartphone can take the help of CSC. Common Service Centers provide digital services at village and local levels.

Till June 30, more than 4.07 lakh CSCs were working at the Gram Panchayat level in the country. Citizens can avail digital government services by visiting these centres.

In this way, even people who do not have smartphones or internet access can be connected to digital government services.
