Manchester United ended its pre-season with a 2-4 defeat to AC Milan at the Tarczyński Arena Wrocław in Poland on Saturday.
The result saw Milan head coach Ruben Amorim, who was sacked by the Premier League side earlier this year, take the win over his former team ahead of the domestic season.
Harry Maguire, who wasn’t part of the England squad which reached the semifinals of the FIFA World Cup held this summer, opened the scoring within the first two minutes. But Samuel Chukwueze equalised for Milan as the sides went into the half-time break with a scoreline of 1-1.
Full back Patrick Dorgu restored United’s lead soon after the break but parity was restored just six minutes later through Alphadjo Cissè. Gonçalo Ramos and Ruben Loftus-Cheek netted a goal each to round up a convincing victory for the Serie A side.
While Michael Carrick’s United open its Premier League 2026-27 season at newly-promoted Hull City on August 22, Milan travels to Torino two days later to open its campaign.
