Erling Haaland receives four Guinness World Records as Manchester City striker keeps creating history

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been handed four Guinness World Records certificates in recognition of his outstanding goalscoring achievements in domestic and international football. The 26-year-old Norwegian was honoured for landmark feats across the Premier League, Champions League and Nations League ahead of the new season.

Haaland lands world records

Haaland has officially been presented with four Guinness World Records certificates for his exceptional scoring exploits for Manchester City and Norway. The powerful forward collected the honours before the new campaign after an impressive display at the 2026 World Cup. The four record-setting achievements include becoming the quickest player to reach 100 Premier League goals, registering the highest number of goals in a single Premier League season, becoming the all-time leading scorer in the UEFA Nations League, and equalling the record for most goals in a single Champions League match.

Milestones across several competitions

One of the standout achievements among the honours was reaching 100 Premier League goals in only 111 appearances, achieved with a penalty against Fulham on December 2, 2025. That figure made the Norwegian the fastest player to reach a century of goals in the history of the competition since making his Manchester City debut in the 2022-23 season. In a little over three years in English football, he has gone from being one of Europe’s brightest young talents to the league’s most dominant force statistically.

Relentless run across Europe

In his first season with Manchester City, the prolific striker scored 36 goals in 38 Premier League matches to move past Mohamed Salah’s 32-goal tally from 2017-18, as well as the 34-goal records set by Andy Cole in 1993-94 and Alan Shearer in 1994-95 during 42-match seasons. At international level, he became the UEFA Nations League’s all-time top scorer with 19 goals between September 2020 and November 2024. In addition, his five-goal performance against RB Leipzig on March 14, 2023, matched the Champions League single-game record held by Lionel Messi and Luiz Adriano, along with a jump of 24 million Instagram followers gained during the World Cup.
