UIDAI shares information via an X post
UIDAI has shared this important information with users through a social media post, comparing the previous situation with the current one:
What was required earlier?
Before this feature, you had to carry multiple physical Aadhaar cards.
This posed a risk of losing or damaging the cards.
Additionally, presenting Aadhaar cards as proof of identity one by one was time-consuming.
What are the benefits of this feature?
You can create up to five profiles on a single phone, allowing you to consolidate profiles for all family members in one place.
Keeping five profiles in one location enhances security and privacy, as you no longer need to carry physical Aadhaar cards everywhere.
This feature eliminates the hassle of managing multiple cards.
How to add an Aadhaar profile to your phone?
To create an Aadhaar profile on your phone, first download the official mAadhaar app from the Google Play Store or App Store.
Open the app and set up your 6-digit security PIN.
Upon opening the app, you will see an "Add Profile" option on the dashboard or home screen; tap on this option.
Next, enter the individual's 12-digit Aadhaar number or scan the Aadhaar card's QR code. Next, an OTP will be sent to the mobile number registered with Aadhaar; enter it or complete the face authentication process.
Once verification is complete, the family member's profile will be added to your phone.
You can update the profiles one by one in this manner.
If you wish to keep the Aadhaar profiles of all your family members saved in one place, download the Aadhaar app and create profiles for everyone.
