Barcelona, the giants of La Liga, have put together a three-player shortlist as they look to strengthen the centre of their defence in the final weeks of the transfer window.
That is according to Diario Sport, which has offered an update on the latest developments behind the scenes at Spotify Camp Nou.
The situation in the middle of Hansi Flick’s Barcelona defence has, of course, changed significantly over the past few days.
After Ronald Araujo decided to move to the Premier League with Liverpool, the Spanish champions have suddenly found themselves looking a little short of options at the back.
With that in mind, Deco and his group of directors have started scanning the market for possible defensive reinforcements. And, as mentioned above, that search has already led to three leading candidates emerging in the Catalan capital.
According to a report from Sport, Barcelona’s search for a centre-back is currently focused on the following three names, in this order: Aymeric Laporte (Athletic Club), Castello Lukeba (RB Leipzig) and Natan (Real Betis).
