GATE 2027: GATE 2027 registration process postponed; apply starting August 27—check the revised schedule here..

There is an important update for candidates preparing for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027. The online registration process for the exam will not commence on the originally scheduled date. IIT Madras has revised the application schedule for GATE 2027. Candidates will now be able to apply via the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) starting August 27, 2026. Additionally, the deadline for applying without a late fee has been extended.

Candidates are advised to fill out the form according to the official schedule once the application process begins and to keep the necessary documents ready in advance.

**New Registration Dates**
According to the revised schedule, the standard application process for GATE 2027 will begin on August 27. Candidates can apply without a late fee until September 27, 2026. Subsequently, the window to apply with a late fee will remain open until October 5, 2026. The facility for making corrections to applications will be available from October 14 to October 21, 2026. Information regarding city allotment will be released on January 4, 2027. The date for the release of admit cards has not yet been announced.

**Exam to be Held Over Six Days in February**
The GATE 2027 examination will be conducted over six days. The exam is scheduled for February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, 2027. The results will be declared on March 19, 2027. There will be a total of 30 papers in the examination. Candidates may appear for one or a maximum of two papers, subject to the rules.

**New Paper (RA) Introduced**
A new paper on Robotics and Automation (RA) has been introduced in GATE this year. Additionally, the syllabi for certain subjects have been modified. Amendments have also been made to some paper codes, including those for Textile Engineering and Fiber Science.

GATE scores are used for admission to postgraduate and doctoral courses at various institutions across the country. Many public sector companies also recognize GATE scores for recruitment. The exam score remains valid for three years from the date the result is declared.
