A viral sushi trend from New York has made its way to Singapore, the world’s second-richest country by GDP per capita in 2025, with local chain Super Sushi introducing its own take on the push-up roll.
The grab-and-go brand has launched SushiPOP, a tube-shaped sushi roll that diners eat by pushing it upward from its container.
Instead of being served like traditional maki, the sushi is packed inside a cylindrical tube similar to the packaging used for Push Pop candy. Diners gradually push the roll up as they eat.
Each serving also comes with soy sauce in a slim, straw-like tube, which can be poured over or squeezed directly into the sushi, according to AsiaOne.

SushiPOP comes in four flavors: Creamy Salmon Avo Pop, Crispy Tako Pop, Fiery Tuna Pop and Sakura Ebi Crunch Pop.
The unusual format appears to have originated at Suka Sushi in New York City, one of the early businesses to popularize sushi served in push-up packaging.
The New York restaurant says its packaging design is currently patent-pending.
