Hariyali Teej 2026: 14 or 15 August, when will the fast of Hariyali Teej be observed? Know the exact date and auspicious time of puja

New Delhi: Hariyali Teej is one of the major festivals of Hindu religion. Especially married women observe fast on this day to pray for their husband's long life, unbroken good fortune and happy married life. Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati are worshiped on this festival celebrated on Tritiya of Sawan Shukla Paksha. This time there is confusion among the people regarding the date of Hariyali Teej i.e. 14th and 15th August.

Hariyali Teej will be celebrated on 15th August

Tritiya Tithi will start at 6:46 pm on 14th August and end at 5:28 pm on 15th August. In such a situation, on the basis of Udayatithi, the fast of Hariyali Teej will be observed on Saturday, August 15, 2026. That means women observing fast will have to perform puja and religious rituals on 15th August only.

Auspicious yoga will be formed on Hariyali Teej

This year, it is said that three auspicious yogas will be formed on Hariyali Teej. These include Shiva Yoga, Siddha Yoga and Ravi Yoga. These yogas are considered auspicious in religious beliefs. Siddha Yoga will last from 15th August to the morning of 16th August. Whereas Ravi Yoga will start from 6:19 am and it has been informed that it will last till 3:25 pm on 16th August. Shiva Yoga will also continue till morning.

Brahma Muhurta: 4:50 am to 5:35 am
Evening: 5:12 am to 6:19 am
Abhijit Muhurta: 12:17 pm to 1:08 pm
Vijay Muhurta: 2:51 to 3:42 pm
Twilight Muhurta: 7:06 pm to 7:29 pm

How to worship Hariyali Teej?

Take bath in the morning, wear clean or green colored clothes and take a pledge to fast. Install the idol or picture of Lord Shiva, Mother Parvati and Lord Ganesha at the place of worship. Offer wedding material to Goddess Parvati and Belpatra, fruits etc. to Lord Shiva. After this, read or listen to Teej fast story and perform aarti.

Do this auspicious work on Teej

On Hariyali Teej, it is considered auspicious to seek blessings from mother-in-law or elder women of the house by giving them suhaag material. Wearing green clothes and bangles is also a part of the tradition of this festival. Apart from this, planting trees while giving the message of environment and greenery is also considered auspicious.
