Popular messaging platform WhatsApp It will soon bring a new and unique feature for its users. In this feature, users will get the option to edit the caption even after sharing the status. This new feature will be launched under the name Caption Edit. Due to this feature, even if the spelling is wrong or the caption is wrong, users will not need to delete or repost the status.

Even after uploading the status, users will be able to change the caption by accessing the edit option. Users will be given 15 minutes time after uploading the status to make this change. Caption editing feature in WhatsApp

According to a report shared by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is preparing to launch a status caption editing feature for Android. This feature is available for select beta testers with WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.26.30.1 update. In this feature, users will get an opportunity to correct spelling mistakes without deleting photos or videos. This feature will be beneficial for users. Users can use it in two ways and this report includes a screenshot showing how the feature will work.

Edit caption option

The update will reportedly allow users to directly edit captions in statuses. A new Edit Caption option will appear in the Status menu. It allows users to make changes without opening the status update. Additionally, users can change their status caption by tapping on the small pencil icon that appears next to the caption. Captions can be updated up to 15 minutes after users post them. Once that time limit expires, users cannot make changes to the caption.

The 'Edited' label will not appear

In fact, an 'Edited' label appears on edited messages in WhatsApp. But the report claims that no such label will appear in the status caption. The status caption editing feature is currently available to limited beta testers using the latest WhatsApp beta version for Android from the Google Play Store. WhatsApp is expected to roll out the feature to more devices in the coming weeks.
