Sunny Deol has spent much of his career known for his action-hero image, but at 68, staying fit for that image doesn't mean following a rigid food plan. During a promotional visit to Punjab for his film Batwara 1947the actor spoke to Savera Star Talks about his daily routine – including what he eats, how he trains, and why he isn't trying to build a particular kind of body.

Samosas And Desi Ghee Parathas Are Still On The Menu

When it comes to food, Sunny admitted that sticking to a strict diet hasn't worked for him. “I tried dieting but I ended up eating samosa and desi ghee with parantha,” he said. He also spoke about how food habits have changed across generations, adding that he often tells his children how much more freely he used to eat at their age, without thinking twice about it.

He Wakes Up Before Sunrise

Exercise has remained a consistent part of Sunny's mornings for years. He said he wakes up before sunrise, around 5:30 am, describing it as an “automatic cycle” rather than something he has to push himself to do. He then works out without a trainer, combining cardio and weight training on his own. The session lasts around one to two hours, and according to him, training first thing in the morning keeps him feeling energized through the day.

No Interest In A Bulky Physics

Sunny made it clear that building bulk isn't the point for him. “I don't aim for a bulky body or to look like anyone else. I just enjoy exercise, and feel healthy,” he said. For him, exercise is less about appearance and more about how it makes him feel — a routine built around consistency rather than a specific physical goal.
