Oops: Two Porsche Panameras End Up Stranded Together on a Canadian Beach, Well Away From Any Road

Porsche owners are often extremely proud of their cars, and many will go out of their way to find the ideal backdrop for a photograph. However, two Porsche Panamera drivers in Toronto appear to have taken that idea a bit too far. According to a report by the Toronto Sun, Toronto Police were called to Woodbine Beach on Tuesday morning, where they found two of Zuffenhausen’s sedans parked — or rather, stuck — on the beach.

The police received the call at 5:54 in the morning, which suggests the Panamera owners may have been chasing the perfect sunrise-over-the-water shot. Instead, they ended up facing a round of online embarrassment after a photograph posted on Reddit and videos shared on other social media showed both cars bogged down in the sand. Making the situation even worse, there is no vehicle access to that part of the beach. According to the Sun, the German sports sedans are believed to have used pedestrian walkways and a boardwalk to get to the spot.

One of the cars was able to get off the beach using its own power, but the other reportedly needed to be towed away. Even so, despite the involvement of a tow truck and the apparent use of a pedestrian pathway, police said that “no criminality” was involved, which means no charges are expected to be filed.

The Porsche Panamera is excellent at covering long highway distances with comfort and speed, and the all-wheel-drive system fitted to most models makes it highly capable in rain and snow. Deep, soft sand, however, is an entirely different challenge — one these two drivers have now, hopefully, learned about.
