According to nutritionists, no single oil can be considered best for everyone. Each oil has its own nutritional profile, fatty acids and method of use. So, the choice of oil depends on your health, age and eating habits.
Coconut oil is high in saturated fat. Due to this, it can withstand high heat and does not deteriorate quickly. According to some research, it has been linked to raising good cholesterol (HDL). However, people who have high LDL cholesterol or are at risk of heart disease are advised to limit their intake.
Avocado oil is rich in monounsaturated fat, which is considered beneficial for heart health. It also contains vitamin E and antioxidants. It is considered a good choice for salads, light cooking and medium to high temperature cooking. However, its cost is significantly lower than other oils.
Does this mean other oils are bad, not at all. Common edible oils such as mustard, peanut, sesame, soybean, sunflower and rice bran provide essential fatty acids to the body when consumed in the right amount. Experts often recommend that it is better to use a balanced mixture of different oils from time to time rather than using a single oil for a long period of time.
The most important thing to remember is the amount of oil. Whether it's coconut oil, avocado oil, or regular cooking oil, too much of it can be harmful. Also, repeated heating of the same oil should be avoided, as this increases the risk of harmful compounds forming.
