Tottenham Hotspur have started discussions with AS Monaco regarding a possible transfer for Folarin Balogun, according to a report by L’Equipe. The French publication says the 25-year-old striker is valued at around €60 million.
Balogun has just completed his third season in the Principality after joining the Ligue 1 club from Tottenham’s rivals Arsenal in 2023. The United States international has been linked with a move away during the current transfer window. Clubs from Spain and England, including Newcastle United, are said to have shown interest in the forward, who scored 19 goals in 45 appearances last season.
Balogun had drawn major attention at the 2026 FIFA World Cup when his red-card suspension was lifted in time for the Round of 16 defeat to Belgium. The striker had originally been sent off in the Round of 32, but that decision was later overturned after a call from US President Donald Trump, who appealed on Balogun’s behalf, although FIFA has denied that the intervention had any influence on the final ruling.
