Positive news for Tottenham supporters as another important player has committed his future to the club.
Micky van de Ven has said he is “excited” about what lies ahead after signing a new contract with Tottenham.
The Dutch defender has grown into a vital figure for Spurs since joining from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2023, and he played a major role as the side defeated Manchester United in the 2025 Europa League final to bring an end to their long wait for silverware.
Van de Ven was also crucial in helping Tottenham avoid relegation from the Premier League last season, captaining the team in the final six matches of the campaign while Cristian Romero was sidelined through injury.
Although he had regularly been linked with a move away, the centre-back has now pledged his future to the club by signing a new deal.
He said: “It’s a special moment to sign a new deal and a proud moment for me and my family.
“I’ve always loved Spurs, from the first day I came in here. I love the club, I love the fans and I’ve developed really well here.
“It’s clear the direction the club wants to go in and I want to be part of it. I’m excited about what’s to come.”
Tottenham sporting director Johan Lange said: “I am delighted that Micky has committed his future to the club.
“His growth and development over the past three years - as both a player and a person - has been huge, and he is now without doubt one of the outstanding defenders in European football.
“Micky represents the type of player we want to build our future around and I look forward to seeing him continue to play an important role for many years to come.”
Van de Ven is the fourth senior Tottenham player to sign a new contract this summer, following Ben Davies, Pedro Porrp and goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky.
