Still feeling the impact of Rodri's rejection, Real Madrid have now decided against entering the market for a midfielder this summer. As per Diario AS, the Spanish giants believe there is not a single midfielder currently available who would improve their squad.

One player who will definitely continue in Real Madrid's midfield is Aurelien Tchouameni. The France international has agreed terms on a new contract at the Bernabeu, bringing an end to Manchester United's hopes that a deal might be possible. Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tchouameni has opted to stay at Real despite interest from the Premier League.

It has very much been a summer dominated by midfield business, and Martin Zubimendi has regularly been in the spotlight. According to Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea's audacious move for the Arsenal midfielder has been met with a minimum asking price of £78m. Xabi Alonso is eager to sign his fellow Spaniard, whose game time in North London could be affected by the arrival of Bruno Guimaraes.

After being left frustrated in their chase for Julian Alvarez, Barcelona are considering other options. Eli Kroupi Junior is among the players they like, but the Bournemouth forward's broken foot has derailed that possibility. BILD report that a shorter-term option may now come into focus, with Alexander Sorloth and Serhou Guirassy both under consideration.

Aston Villa are intensifying their attempts to sign Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich as Unai Emery continues to reshape the squad.
