YouTube Music High Quality: Whether commuting to the office or heading out for work, people often enjoy listening to music along the way. However, some users complain about the audio quality; a major reason for this could be the app's default audio streaming setting.
Typically, streaming is set to 'Normal' mode. If you wish to listen to music with superior audio quality, you can manually change the setting to 'High' or 'Always High'.
Why do 'High' or 'Always High' offer better quality?
In YouTube Music, songs stream at a bitrate of up to 128 kbps in 'Normal' mode. In contrast, for superior quality, audio can be streamed at a bitrate of up to 256 kbps.
This quality is available in YouTube Music under the 'High' or 'Always High' settings. So, if you want to listen to music with better audio quality, you can choose either of these options.
It is important to note that audio quality settings for streaming and downloading are separate.
How to improve audio quality on YouTube Music?
If you want to stream songs in high quality on YouTube Music, follow these simple steps:
First, open the YouTube Music app.
Tap on your profile photo.
Go to 'Settings'.
In the Android app, go to the 'Data saving' option.
In the iOS app, you will find the 'Playback & restrictions' option.
Set the audio quality to 'High' or 'Always High' here.
The audio quality of streamed songs will improve after this.
You can also improve the quality of downloaded songs.
Furthermore, if you listen to downloaded songs offline, simply changing the streaming quality won't be enough.
Follow these steps to change the quality of downloaded songs:
First, go to 'Settings' and then to 'Downloads & storage'.
You will find an 'Audio quality' option there.
You can set the audio quality to 'High' here.
Keep in mind that once the new download setting is applied, you will need to re-download previously saved songs for them to be stored in the new, high audio quality. High quality consumes more data.
However, there is a downside to listening to songs in high quality. A higher bitrate means increased data consumption during streaming.
Additionally, high-quality streaming requires a stable internet connection. If the network is weak, you may experience buffering issues while playing songs.
Adjust sound using the equalizer
You can also adjust the sound output to your preference using the equalizer settings available in YouTube Music. This allows users to customize their audio experience according to their liking.
