Phu Quoc, voted Asia’s most beautiful island by readers of Condé Nast Traveler, recorded tourism revenue of VND36.4 trillion (US$1.38 billion) in the first seven months this year, up 46% year-on-year, amid a boom in foreign arrivals.
The Vietnam’s largest island received 1.5 million foreign arrivals between January and July, up 53% year-on-year, according to a report from An Giang Province’s Department of Tourism.
Phu Quoc has set its target of welcoming 8.5 million tourists this year including 2 million foreigners.
The island’s tourism industry generated VND44 trillion ($1.67 billion) in 2025.
To meet the growing demand for accommodation, Phu Quoc has over 700 lodging establishments with more than 24,000 rooms, including 29 international-standard 4- and 5-star hotels offering 13,470 rooms.
