15th August i.e. Independence Day is a day of pride and excitement for every Indian. On the occasion of this special day, the idea of making dishes that reflect the colors of the tricolor at home is wonderful. A delicious tricolor sandwich can be made using layers of three colors – orange, white and green – giving a little twist to the usual sandwich.

Material
- Bread slices – 6
- Butter – 3 to 4 tbsp
- Green Chutney – 2 tbsp
- Tomato sauce – 2 tbsp
- Grated carrots – half a bowl
- Grated cheese – half a bowl
- Finely chopped cucumber – half a bowl
- Finely chopped coriander – 2 tbsp
- Chaat masala – half a spoon
- Black pepper powder – pinch
- Salt – as per taste

- First wash the carrot and cucumber. Grate the carrot and finely chop the cucumber to gently squeeze out excess water.
- Add cucumber, coriander, green chutney, little salt and chaat masala in a bowl and mix well. This mixture will be used for the green layer of the sandwich.
- Take grated cheese in another bowl and add some black pepper powder and a pinch of salt. Mix all the ingredients together to make a white layer mixture.
- Butter a bread slice and spread the tomato sauce over it. Spread grated carrot evenly over it. This will form the orange layer of the sandwich.
- Place another bread slice on top of the carrot layer. Spread the cheese mixture over it. The white color of the cheese will represent the middle color of the tricolor.
- Place the third bread slice on top of the cheese layer. Spread the prepared green chutney and cucumber mixture over it. Place the last bread slice on top and press the sandwich lightly.
- Toast the prepared sandwiches in a toaster or on a griddle until lightly golden and crispy on both sides.
- Cut the sides of the sandwich into two or four pieces and serve immediately. You can decorate the sandwich with tricolor vegetables to make it look attractive.
