Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly made a €50m bid to FC Barcelona as they push to sign Ferran Torres (26), according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
While the Paris club are said to be very close to sealing a verbal agreement with the Spain forward, negotiations with Barça are understood to be in their closing stages. As a result, a successful conclusion now appears to be getting closer.
Torres, the only scorer in the last World Cup final, is now expected to move to France soon, where he would link up again with Luis Enrique, under whom he previously played for the Spain national team.
Torres has spent the last four years as a forward at FC Barcelona after joining from Manchester City. During that period, he has made more than 200 appearances and scored 65 goals across all competitions. Although he featured 49 times last season, his wish to take on a more important role within an elite squad is said to have driven his decision to leave Catalonia.
