Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Aston Villa left-back Lucas Digne, with both clubs confirming the move. The reigning back-to-back UEFA Champions League winners activated Digne’s release clause, which was set at €10 million. The 33-year-old returns to Paris after previously spending two seasons at PSG from 2013 to 2015. Digne is also set to link up again with Luis Enrique, who coached him at FC Barcelona a decade ago.
Digne has put pen to paper on a three-year contract with PSG. The France international is expected to serve as cover for Nuno Mendes in the French capital, while Lucas Hernandez will move into a centre-back role. He will wear the No. 12 shirt for the Parisians.
Digne leaves Aston Villa as a UEFA Europa League winner. He joined the Birmingham club in 2022 from fellow Premier League side Everton and went on to make 182 appearances for Villa.
