Scenes of euphoria in Florence dominate Italy’s sports front pages on Friday, as Fiorentina supporters welcomed the arrival of Franco Mastantuono, while Juventus’ unrelenting transfer business and a series of striking interviews also take centre stage.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Tuttosport and La Gazzetta dello Sport, the presentation of Mastantuono has truly captured attention.

Corriere’s headline reads “Pazzi di Masta”, saying the Argentine touched down to an ecstatic reception, guitar in hand, with fans urging him to play, while his medical and contract signing are still to be completed. Tuttosport and Gazzetta reflect the same atmosphere, portraying a city completely taken by the loan signing from Real Madrid.

In Turin-based coverage, Juventus lead the transfer discussion. Tuttosport’s “Lucusì” says the Bianconeri have reached an agreement on personal terms with Bologna defender Jhon Lucumí, who is reported to prefer Juventus even over a financially richer switch to Nottingham Forest, although an opening offer worth €17m has been turned down and Federico Gatti would need to be sold to create space.

Joshua Zirkzee, from Manchester United, is moving ever closer, while goalkeeper Zion Suzuki continues to be a priority as the transfer window moves into its decisive stretch.
