TikToker Sydney Towle has passed away, as confirmed by her family.
The American influencer was battling with a rare, aggressive form of cancer.
At the time of death, the influencer, who had shared her journey online, was 26.
On Thursday, her family announced that she had passed away from complications to bile duct cancer that had spread to other parts of her body.
In a video shared on TikTok, her brother Austin said “Syd went peacefully last night after an almost three-year-long battle with cholangiocarcinoma.”
Sydney had shared her story online with 200,000 followers on multiple social media platforms..
Her family said in a statement “We are so proud of how hard Sydney fought and for sharing her journey with so many people.”
“She wanted to raise awareness for rare cancers and was passionate about promoting self-advocacy. We will continue her legacy and honour her in every way we can.”
Previously in May, Sydney shared videos from hospital where she was receiving treatment for complications to her cancer.
The late influencer shared joy and hope in her vidoes despite the complicated health battle she was fighting.
