Real Madrid have improved their contract proposal to Vinicius Junior, with a decision from the Brazil forward now drawing closer.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Real Madrid have increased their offer to Vinicius as they look to secure the Brazil international’s long-term future at the club.

The 26-year-old is now into the final year of his current contract, while Arsenal are continuing to keep a close watch on the situation in case talks do not produce a breakthrough.

Arsenal are also prepared to make an approach for Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, according to The Daily Mail, while Bruno Guimaraes is due to undergo a medical after Arsenal agreed a £75m deal with Newcastle for the midfielder.

One player heading out of Arsenal, however, is midfielder Christian Norgaard. Everton have completed the signing of the Denmark midfielder, giving their midfield added Premier League experience ahead of the new season.

Newcastle confirmed yesterday that Matthias Jaissle has been appointed as their new head coach following the departure of Eddie Howe. However, the German now appears likely to lose one of the club’s most important players almost straight away if Guimaraes completes his expected switch to north London.

Elsewhere, Tottenham youngster Mikey Moore is moving closer to another loan spell, with Bundesliga club FC Koln nearing an agreement for the highly rated winger after positive discussions with Spurs. Hayters first reported the German club’s interest in the teenager.

The Athletic also report that Real Madrid have agreed a €140m deal for highly rated winger Yan Diomande.

The teenager had drawn attention from a number of top European clubs before Madrid won the race for his signature in what will become one of the biggest transfer deals involving a teenage player.

However, the Spanish giants are also facing competition from bitter rivals Barcelona for Manchester City midfielder Rodri, again according to The Athletic.
