Most people face dandruff and an itchy scalp during the monsoon season. Humidity and sweat contribute to the rapid growth of the Malassezia fungus, making dandruff and itchy scalp problems common. Dandruff weakens hair and causes itchiness, leading to hair loss. Dr. Hansa Yogendra (renowned yoga guru and director of The Yoga Institute) shared a video on YouTube explaining how to get relief from dandruff during this season.

Try this recipe to get rid of itching and dandruff

To treat itching and dandruff, you can use a paste of basil, neem leaves, aloe vera gel, avocado, and tea tree oil. In a bowl, combine a handful of basil, a handful of neem leaves, two small avocado slices, two to three drops of tea tree oil, and two teaspoons of aloe vera gel. Put them in a mixer jar and grind them, then apply this paste to your scalp. After thirty minutes, wash your hair with a mild shampoo.

Tulsi leaves are extremely beneficial in naturally removing excess buildup from the scalp. The antibacterial properties of neem leaves thoroughly cleanse the scalp. Aloe vera gel deeply nourishes and soothes the scalp. The healthy fats in avocado support the repair process, and tea tree oil gently cleanses the scalp.

Also keep these things in mind:

Avoid using hot water on your hair. Clean your hair regularly and avoid excessive sweat accumulation. Avoid scrubbing or rubbing your scalp too hard with towels. Avoid excessive styling products. Choose a sulfate-free shampoo; it helps retain moisture. Include foods in your diet that will keep your hair healthy.
