Manchester United will take on Paris Saint-Germain in Gothenburg this weekend.
United, who have already come up against Wrexham, Rosenborg and Atletico Madrid during pre-season, step up their build-up for the new campaign on Saturday when they meet reigning Ligue 1 champions and European title holders Paris Saint-Germain.
Youri Tielemans, who joined from Aston Villa for £35 million last month, was not involved in any of those three matches because of the compulsory three-week break after the World Cup, having helped Belgium reach the quarter-finals before they were knocked out by eventual champions Spain.
The midfielder has now resumed training with his new team-mates at Carrington and is widely expected to be included in the squad that travels to Gothenburg for the glamour pre-season fixture.
“It’s hard to describe just how proud I am to join Manchester United,” Tielemans said after sealing his transfer.
“Signing for such a special club feels incredible, it is the culmination of years of dedication since I first fell in love with football.
“I have had the privilege of experiencing success in the game and it has only increased my determination to achieve more. The ambition from everyone at the club is extremely clear; we are all determined to push for the biggest trophies over the coming years.”
Youri Tielemans was pictured in training.
Manchester United’s travelling party could also receive a lift through the returns of captain Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Matheus Cunha and Noussair Mazraoui.
Like Tielemans, the four players were granted extra time off after their respective World Cup exits, but they returned to Carrington on Monday to begin pre-season work.
With Argentina having met Spain in the World Cup final and England defeating France in the bronze final, Lisandro Martinez, Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford are expected to report back after the match against Paris Saint-Germain.
