Manchester United’s bid to sign Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye has run into a major obstacle, with Al-Hilal stepping up their interest in the 26-year-old Senegal international while Everton continue to value him at around £75 million.
According to sources close to the agents industry who spoke to CaughtOffside, Everton are prepared to consider Ndiaye’s sale only if their asking price of roughly £75 million is met. The same sources said Al-Hilal are presently in a stronger position than United to meet both the transfer fee and the player’s salary expectations.
Left wing has been identified as a key priority for United this summer. INEOS are believed to be keen on using a system featuring natural wingers, and Manchester United appreciate the Senegal international for his ability to carry the ball, take on defenders, and operate across multiple attacking roles.
Ndiaye has emerged as a possible alternative to other winger targets, and his Premier League experience further increases his appeal. According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are unlikely to make a move for Ndiaye unless Marcus Rashford leaves the club, which continues to make their planning for wide positions more difficult.
The Mirror reported that Everton have put a £70 million valuation on Ndiaye and are not willing to reduce it. The Athletic has said Everton would demand a prohibitive fee for the player, with around £69 million needed before they would even consider a sale. Ndiaye still has three years left on his current contract and there is no exit clause. The latest information places the figure at £75 million — with the variation in reported amounts across outlets reflecting different stages of negotiations rather than any definite increase in Everton’s stance.
Aston Villa have also expressed interest, while Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham are keeping a close watch on developments. That level of Premier League interest strengthens Everton’s negotiating position, while Al-Hilal’s financial muscle gives them an added advantage from outside the domestic market.
United have shown interest, but they are not thought to be ready to meet the current asking price.
