The monsoon is currently fully active in Bihar, and the intensity of rainfall is expected to increase in the coming days. During the past 24 hours, light to moderate rain has been recorded across much of the state, with some areas experiencing significant rainfall. According to the latest forecast from the Meteorological Department (IMD), this trend of heavy rain is expected to continue across much of the state on August 4th.

The weather across the state appears to have completely changed. The Meteorological Department has warned that along with the rain, many places may experience torrential thunderstorms, severe lightning strikes, and strong gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. In view of the situation, the Meteorological Department has issued a heavy alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in 10 districts of the state, which has put the administration on full alert.

The Meteorological Department has stated in its warning that extremely heavy rainfall is expected in districts like Samastipur, Vaishali, and West Champaran. These areas may experience heavy waterlogging and a sudden rise in the water level of both large and small rivers. Additionally, a strict alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for Araria, Bhojpur, Buxar, Katihar, Kishanganj, Saran, and Siwan districts. The Meteorological Department has specifically appealed to the public in all these districts to remain extremely vigilant and cautious.

Temperature conditions and relief from heat

According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, on August 4, most districts in northwest and north-central Bihar are expected to record maximum temperatures between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 24 to 26 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, in northeast, southwest, south-central, and southeast Bihar, maximum temperatures are expected to be between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures between 24 and 28 degrees Celsius.

What will the weather be like in the coming days?

According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, on August 5th, strong winds accompanied by thunderstorms will continue to blow in the districts of northwestern, northcentral, and northeastern Bihar. Furthermore, there will be a heavy rain alert in Banka, Bhabua, Gaya, Jamui, Nawada, West Champaran, and Rohtas. On August 6th, there will be a risk of strong winds and thunderstorms in northwestern, southwestern, and southcentral Bihar, while Aurangabad, Bhabua, Gaya, Nawada, and Rohtas may experience heavy rain. On August 7th, southwestern Bihar will experience thunderstorms, although no specific warning has been issued for August 8th and 9th.

In view of the bad weather, the Meteorological Department has appealed to the people not to stay under the open sky during thunder and lightning (lightning) and immediately take shelter in a safe house or building.
