This AI chatbot is capable of answering questions based on a user's spending behavior, enabling them to analyze their expenses. Additionally, Google has announced a partnership with SBI Card to launch the Google Pay Flex SBI Card, which operates on the RuPay network.

In a blog post last Wednesday, the company announced the launch of Ask Google Pay, a dedicated AI chatbot powered by Google's Gemini AI models. It is an opt-in feature, meaning users must manually enable it to use it. With Ask Google Pay, users can request an analysis of their expenses, helping them better track their spending habits. To access this feature, users need to enable "Personalisation" within Google Pay.

For instance, a user can ask the Ask Google Pay chatbot for a breakdown of their expenses from the previous month. In response, the AI ​​chatbot will retrieve the data, display it as a pie chart, list transactions by category, and offer tips to improve spending patterns. Similarly, Ask Google Pay can find offers and credit card options tailored to the user's habits. It can explain financial terms—such as compounding interest—in simple language and clarify the differences between tax regimes.

Google further stated that Ask Google Pay can also help users understand financial concepts like SIPs and credit scores. While responding, the chatbot can reference the user's transaction history and credit report data, enabling it to provide personalized recommendations and suggestions. According to the company, this AI chatbot can understand and answer user queries in 10 Indian languages. It supports both text and voice commands.

Additionally, the company has expanded its digital credit card portfolio by launching the Google Pay Flex SBI Card in partnership with SBI Card. Built on the RuPay network, this credit card is currently available to users. Before this, the company had launched the Google Pay Flex Axis Card in India last year.
