On Sunday, several states across the country grappled with the aftermath of floods and landslides. Heavy rains have severely disrupted normal life and claimed numerous lives in Assam, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, and Gujarat. The death toll from floods in Assam has reached 85, with three additional fatalities reported in Sivasagar district.

In Kerala, heavy rains have resulted in eight deaths, with an equal number of people reported missing. Two girls lost their lives due to flooding in the Abujhmad area of ​​Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district. Flood-affected regions have suffered significant property damage, and lakhs of acres of crops remain submerged. Widespread waterlogging has left lakhs of people homeless.

**Weather Department Warning for the Coming Days**
Administrative authorities, along with NDRF and SDRF teams, are engaged in relief and rescue operations. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heavy rainfall and flash floods in several regions over the coming days.

According to media reports, the five districts of Assam most severely affected by the floods are Sivasagar, Golaghat, Jorhat, Charaideo, and Dhemaji. A total of 349 villages have been impacted. The Assam State Disaster Management Authority reported that 85 lives have been lost so far, and 1.80 lakh people have been affected.

**Highest Number of Affected People in Sivasagar**
Sivasagar has recorded the highest number of affected individuals, exceeding 55,000. However, the flood situation in Assam showed slight improvement on Sunday. The administration has established 54 relief camps across five districts, currently sheltering 13,771 people. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reviewed the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts in the flood-affected districts.

**Eight Deaths in Kerala**
Heavy rains in Kerala have claimed eight lives, while an equal number of people remain missing; 13 others have sustained injuries. Torrential downpours triggered landslides in some areas and caused widespread waterlogging, severely disrupting daily life. The administration is engaged in relief and rescue operations. Chief Minister VD Satheesan stated on Sunday that 27 houses were destroyed and 196 houses suffered partial damage due to the heavy rainfall the previous day.

A total of 5,792 people have been moved to 209 relief camps set up across the state. He assured that the government would provide all possible assistance to the families of the deceased and those affected. He noted that while rainfall has subsided compared to the previous day, people—especially those in hilly areas—have been advised to remain vigilant.

Revenue Minister AP Anil Kumar stated that he and other ministers are overseeing relief and rescue operations in the affected areas. According to the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA), some parts of the state received up to 320 mm of rainfall on Saturday. The Ayyankunnu area in Kannur district recorded the highest rainfall. Meanwhile, the IMD has issued an 'Orange Alert' for 12 districts and a 'Yellow Alert' for Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts.

**Situation remains critical in Chhattisgarh**

According to ANI, the flood situation remains critical in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district. In the Abujhmad region, 16 houses were washed away, over 50 houses were damaged, and two girls lost their lives. Separately, a PTI report from Ahmedabad indicates that several parts of Gujarat received moderate rainfall on Sunday.

Rajkot recorded 62 mm of rainfall between 6:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Due to recent heavy rains, Gujarat has received an average of 623.29 mm of rainfall, which is approximately 68.58 percent of the total seasonal rainfall.
