PM Crop Insurance: There is very important news for the farmers of the state. The deadline for participating in the Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme has been extended from 31 July to 10 August 2026. This information has been given by Agriculture Minister Dattatreya Bharne. This decision has been taken to provide relief to farmers who have technical difficulties and are unable to complete the documents. What exactly did the Agriculture Minister say?

What did Agriculture Minister Dattatreya Bharane say?

“The Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme is receiving a spontaneous response from the farmers of the state, and so far 61 lakh 82 thousand 218 farmers have registered for crop insurance. Some farmers have not yet been able to submit applications due to technical difficulties, completion of documents or other personal reasons. Considering these factors, the last date for participation in the Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme has been extended from 31 July 2026 to 10 August 2026,” informed Agriculture Minister Dattatreya Bharane.

How many responses from which department?

According to the data of the eight agriculture departments of the state, 1,02,335 farmers from Konkan region, 3,33,385 from Nashik region, 6,07,663 from Pune region, 2,40,253 from Kolhapur region, 13,25,000 from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar region, 2,42,826 from Latur region, 6,91,973 from Amravati region and 4,53,383 from Nagpur region have registered for crop insurance. A total of 61 lakh 82 thousand 218 farmers have participated in this scheme, and the data shows that the highest number of responses were received from Marathwada region and the lowest from Konkan region.

Farmers who did not apply…

“Crop loan farmers should contact the concerned bank, while non-loan farmers should complete the application process through the official portal or the nearest service center before August 10, 2026,” the Agriculture Department has appealed. Speaking in this regard, Agriculture Minister Dattatreya Bharne said, “It is the firm stand of the state government that no eligible farmer in the state should be deprived of the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. Therefore, farmers who have not yet been able to apply, should take advantage of the extended deadline and apply for crop insurance before August 10 without any delay.”

“The Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme is an important scheme that provides financial protection to farmers against crop losses due to natural calamities, heavy rains, drought, floods, hailstorms and climate change. The Agriculture Department is extending all possible cooperation so that no eligible farmer is deprived of the benefits of the scheme, and all farmers should apply for the extended period of benefit,” appealed Agriculture Minister Dattatreya Bharane. To apply online under the Crop Insurance Scheme, farmers should download the PMFBY Crop Insurance App or visit the official website www.pmfby.gov.in and submit the application.
