Health.  If you spend 8 to 10 hours a day working in front of a computer, this news is extremely important for you. Cervical problems are rapidly increasing due to constant sitting in the same position, poor posture, and lack of physical activity. According to media reports, using a laptop or mobile phone with your neck bent for long periods puts additional pressure on the neck muscles and spine, which can lead to pain and stiffness.

Causes, symptoms and remedies for cervical

The upper part of the spine that supports our neck is called the cervical spine. This structure supports the weight of the head and allows the neck to rotate easily in different directions. The cervical spine is made up of seven small bones (vertebrae), the discs between which help absorb shock and maintain balance between the bones. When these bones, discs, or surrounding nerves are put under excessive pressure due to prolonged poor posture, constant sitting, or other reasons, problems like neck pain, stiffness, strain, and sometimes pain spreading to the shoulders or arms can begin.

This condition is commonly referred to as cervical problems. Early symptoms of cervical problems may include neck pain, stiff shoulders, headaches, tingling or numbness in the hands, and difficulty moving the neck. If these symptoms are ignored for a long time, the problem can become serious and affect daily activities.

To avoid this, experts recommend adopting correct sitting posture. Keep the computer screen at eye level, choose a chair that provides adequate back support, and get up every 30 to 45 minutes to walk around or do some light stretching. Regular exercise, neck and shoulder exercises, and a balanced lifestyle can also help reduce the risk of cervical problems.

If neck pain persists, arm weakness is felt, or pain increases, it’s important to consult a doctor or physiotherapist instead of self-medication. With early detection and proper care, many cervical problems can be managed before they become serious. By maintaining healthy posture and regular activity, you can maintain the health of your neck and spine for the long term.
