Mumbai: Actor Hrithik Roshan has reacted to the viral “We Need To Apologise To Hrithik” trend that has been circulating on social media.
Responding to an Instagram post by copywriter and social media influencer Freddy Birdy, the actor said he would wait for the context behind the trend to become clear. He also urged people not to get influenced by online narratives and instead focus on facts.
“My friend, siding with ‘A’ just because you don’t like ‘B’ anymore is a small part of the larger systemic issue plaguing our society. I’ll wait, for when the context to it is the right one, and motivated by facts. That would be fair. But then again, who cares anymore right?” Hrithik wrote.
His comment comes amid ongoing social media discussions around Kangana Ranaut following her recent remarks about Gen Z. As the debate continues, several users have been revisiting her past interviews, videos and controversies.
The trend gained momentum after Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurav Das claimed that his friends joked that Kangana had targeted him because he looked like a younger Hrithik Roshan.
In response, Kangana referred to Das as “useless” and “unemployed” in an Instagram post, further intensifying the online debate.
Das had said, “One of my friends said maybe she is after my life because I look a little like young Hrithik Roshan. This is what my friends told me. I was pleasantly surprised. Why should someone like her attack someone like me?”
Soon after, “We Need To Apologise To Hrithik Roshan” began trending on social media, with many users referring to the actor’s widely publicised dispute with Kangana that began in 2016.
The controversy began after Kangana referred to Hrithik as her “silly ex” during an interview. Hrithik denied the claim and stated that they had never been in a relationship.
The disagreement later escalated into a legal dispute, with both actors exchanging legal notices and making public statements, including over allegations involving emails.
The controversy remained in the spotlight for months and continues to be one of Bollywood’s most talked-about public disputes.
