In view of the severe heavy rainfall situation in the state, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) to conduct a detailed review of the situation. He obtained direct updates from officials regarding the ongoing relief, rescue, and citizen evacuation operations in various rain-affected areas.

Meeting with Senior Officials and Discussion on Safety:

Senior officials, including Chief Secretary M.K. Das, Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue Department) Jayanti Ravi, and Relief Commissioner Gaurang Makwana, attended the high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister. Discussions focused on the administration's actions in affected areas, ensuring citizen safety, and providing essential amenities at relief shelters.

Red Alert for 10 Districts; Collectors Instructed to Remain Alert:

A 'Red Alert' has been forecast for 10 districts in the state tomorrow due to the likelihood of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. In light of this, the Chief Minister has issued strict instructions to the respective District Collectors to remain fully alert and ensure all preparatory measures are in place. Additionally, the district administration has been directed to maintain constant coordination with relief and rescue teams to tackle any potential disaster.

Army Deployment and Assistance to Local Administration:

The Army's assistance has been enlisted to ensure a swift response to any emergency arising from the rain and floods. Two Army columns each have been deployed in Ahmedabad, Navsari, and Surat. Should the situation deteriorate or the need arise, these teams will collaborate with the local administration to assist in rescue operations.

Air Force Helicopters on Standby and Continuous Monitoring:

Air Force helicopters have been placed on standby at Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Vadodara, and Pune to facilitate aerial rescue operations in critical situations, ensuring that relief and rescue efforts can be expedited during emergencies if required. The state government is continuously monitoring the overall rainfall situation around the clock, and all precautionary measures are being taken to ensure the safety of citizens.
