Peanut oil is considered the best for frying. Even if you use cold-pressed oil, there’s nothing better. You can find cold-pressed peanut oil in the market, but you can also easily make it at home. Making peanut oil at home without a machine is quite easy. You can simply make it in a mixer. You can extract 40 grams of oil from about 1 kilogram of peanuts. Let’s learn an easy way to extract peanut oil at home.
How to make peanut oil at home
Step 1: To make peanut oil, we’re using 1 kilogram of shelled peanuts. Roast the peanuts in a pan without oil. Roast them over low heat until the skins crackle. Turn off the heat and rub them to remove the skins. Wrapping the peanuts in a cloth and rubbing them thoroughly can also remove the skins. Now, brush off the peanut skins. It’s okay if a little skin remains.
Step Two: Now, put 2 large cups of water in a pot on the stove and let it heat. Meanwhile, put the peanuts in a mixer jar and grind them. Grind the peanuts, turning the mixer on and off occasionally. First, grind them into a powder, then grind them on high speed until they become slightly moist. At high speed, peanut oil will begin to flow. You should grind all the peanuts in this manner.
Step Three: Now, add the boiled water to the ground peanuts, 2 teaspoons at a time. Be careful not to add all of the water at once. Knead the peanuts with your hands until they resemble flour, adding water as you go. When the peanut powder becomes flour-like, knead them thoroughly. The peanuts will absorb the water and release the oil. Knead until the oil begins to flow freely.
Step Four: Once enough oil has been extracted, strain it thoroughly using a sieve. Tie the peanut mixture in a thin cloth or squeeze it thoroughly with your hands. Now, add a little water to the remaining powder and continue extracting the oil. Approximately 300-400 grams of oil will be extracted from 1 kilogram of peanuts. Your pure and sweet homemade peanut oil is ready.
Once all the oil has drained, make your favorite peanut laddus and eat them. Add jaggery or sugar to the laddus. Add some roasted sesame seeds and make peanut laddus. Super healthy and tasty peanut laddus are ready. You can also make barfi from them.
