The University of Delhi has announced the CSAS PG 2026 Spot Round 1 seat allotment, offering another opportunity to candidates who were unable to secure admission during the regular counselling and upgrade rounds. Eligible candidates can now check their allotment status through the official postgraduate admission portal and must complete the online seat acceptance process by 4:59 pm on July 31, 2026. Following seat acceptance, colleges and departments will carry out document verification until August 1, while the final deadline to pay the admission fee is August 2, 2026. The university has cautioned candidates that admission will only be confirmed after successful completion of all three stages, including seat acceptance, verification of documents and payment of the prescribed fee.

Delhi University Begins Final Phase of PG Admissions Through Spot Round 1

With the release of the Common Seat Allocation System for Postgraduate Admissions (CSAS PG) 2026 Spot Round 1 allotment, Delhi University has entered one of the final phases of its admission process for the 2026 academic session. Thousands of postgraduate aspirants who remained without a seat after the earlier rounds of counselling now have another opportunity to secure admission into some of the country’s most sought-after postgraduate programmes.

The Spot Round has been introduced to fill vacancies that remained after the completion of the regular admission rounds and the subsequent upgrade process. After accessing their dashboard, candidates should carefully verify the allotted programme, college or department, admission category and all other details before proceeding with seat acceptance.

The acceptance option available on the portal must be exercised within the stipulated deadline. Candidates who fail to complete this step before the closing time will automatically lose the allotted seat. Once forfeited, the university may include the vacant seat in future admission rounds depending upon the availability of vacancies and its admission schedule.

The university has advised candidates not to wait until the final few hours before the deadline because heavy traffic on the admission portal, slow internet connectivity, browser-related issues or delayed OTP verification could affect successful submission.

Candidates are therefore encouraged to complete the seat acceptance process at the earliest to avoid unnecessary complications during the final hours.

Document Verification and Fee Payment Will Complete the Admission Process

Seat acceptance alone does not guarantee admission into Delhi University.

Following acceptance of the allotted seat, the concerned college or department will begin verifying the documents uploaded by the candidate during the registration process. This verification exercise will continue until August 1, 2026.

The verification process is designed to ensure that every candidate satisfies the academic eligibility requirements and has submitted authentic supporting documents. Colleges may examine undergraduate mark sheets, degree certificates, CUET PG 2026 scorecards, identity proof and reservation certificates wherever applicable. If discrepancies are noticed, candidates may be contacted through the admission portal or registered email and asked to upload revised documents or provide further clarification.

Only after successful verification will candidates become eligible to pay the prescribed admission fee.

The university has fixed August 2, 2026 as the final date for payment of admission fees through the online payment gateway available on the admission portal. Candidates are advised to retain the payment receipt and admission confirmation generated after successful completion of the transaction for future reference.

Delhi University has repeatedly emphasised that all three stages of the admission process are equally important. Missing even one stage, whether seat acceptance, document verification or fee payment, may result in cancellation of admission.

Before accepting the allotted seat, candidates should thoroughly examine every detail displayed on their admission dashboard.

The allotted programme, college or department, admission category and other personal information should be checked carefully to ensure there are no discrepancies. Candidates should also ensure that all documents uploaded on the portal are clear, legible and valid. Educational certificates, undergraduate mark sheets, CUET PG scorecards and category certificates should match the details furnished during the registration process. Differences in spellings, incomplete documents or expired certificates can delay verification and may affect admission.

Students claiming reservation benefits under categories such as OBC-NCL, SC, ST, EWS or PwBD should ensure that the relevant certificates comply with the university’s prescribed guidelines and remain valid for the current admission cycle.
