Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [भारत]July 30 (ANI): Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati on Thursday honored Indian Idol season 16 winner Jyotirmayee Nayak at Lok Bhawan. Appreciating their extraordinary talent, dedication and perseverance, the Governor said that their achievement has made Odisha proud and will inspire young artistes to fulfill their dreams with determination and hard work.

Speaking to ANI, Jyotirmoyee Nayak expressed happiness over meeting the Governor of Odisha. He said, "It was a very big moment for me because I got the opportunity to meet Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and he welcomed us with great love and warmth. I am grateful that he honored me."

Jyotirmayee's amazing journey in Indian Idol 16

Jyotirmayee Nayak won the title of Indian Idol Season 16. After months of stellar performances in the singing reality show, she emerged as the winner. Jyotirmayee ended her Indian Idol journey with her performance on the song 'Saiyan O Saiyan'.

During the show, she was also praised for her performance on 'O Jab Tak Hai Jaan Jaane Jahan Main Nachoongi', which received a standing ovation from veteran actress Hema Malini. Her rendition of 'Jaane Kyun Log Mohabbat Kiya Karte Hain' also impressed Leena Chandavarkar, and the veteran actress said she would love to hear the iconic song in Jyotirmoyee's voice.

Before coming to Indian Idol, Jyotirmoyee was already working in the Oriya music industry. He also worked with cancer patients through music therapy.

The grand finale featured judges Shreya Ghoshal and Badshah along with other celebrities including Usha Uthup, Udit Narayan, Papon, Kumar Sanu, Shehnaz Gill and Urmila Matondkar as special guests. The 16th season of Indian Idol was based on the theme 'Yaadon Ki Playlist' and featured performances on popular songs from different eras. (ANI)
